Almost every enquiry starts with the same question, and it deserves a straight answer rather than a form to fill in.
The honest answer is that cleaning is priced on time, and time depends on the property. A cleaner who quotes a firm price over the phone without knowing your house is either guessing high to protect themselves or guessing low and will ask for more later.
Here is what actually moves the number.
A regular maintenance clean of a three bedroom home is the cheapest thing we do, because the house is already in reasonable order and we are keeping it there.
A one-off deep clean of the same house can take three or four times as long, because it includes inside the oven, inside cupboards, window tracks, skirtings and behind furniture.
An end of tenancy clean of that same house sits at the top, because it is a full reset to an inspection standard and there is no room to leave anything.
Two houses with the same bedroom count can be an hour apart in cleaning time. These are the things that make the difference.
Weekly cleaning costs the least per visit because nothing builds up between visits. Fortnightly is the most popular choice in Christchurch and sits slightly higher per clean. Monthly costs the most per visit, because a month of living has to be undone each time.
If you are choosing between fortnightly and weekly purely on budget, fortnightly is usually the right call for a couple or a small household. For a family with young children or pets, weekly often works out better value than it looks.
